All I want for Christmas is...

We were really late in visiting Santa this year. With Liam in his cast we weren't sure if it was even going to happen. So, on the 23rd, our last day in town, we ventured out. Big Mama and Julia braved the cold as we stood in line for over a half an hour while Morgan, Liam and Olivia stayed warm and snuggly in the car. As I got up to the line a little boy and girl got in line in front of me. They got there 2 seconds before me. And then another little boy came to join them, then another girl, and another and another until all ten of them were in line waiting. I should have raced the little kid when I saw him get out of the car in the first place. This made for an extra long line on one of the coldest nights. When it was about our turn to visit Santa, Morgan got out with Liam. For the record, I don't even think Liam knows who Santa is, but we have to have the photos each year, right?

Crush

My kids love looking at all the Holiday cards that come to the house during December. They love opening them and looking at friends and family or asking "who's that? Do I know them?" With one particular card, Julia opened it and I saw here staring at it, for quite a while. I asked her who's card it was and when she told me I could tell she was taking special interest in this one. I asked her "Do you have a crush on him?" These pictures were her reaction:

Need I say more?

Slash and Morgan the Mullet Man

Olivia would hardly touch or look at me because she said I looked too scary.

Vampire mother and daughter.

This one's for you, dad: (yes, he had two costumes)

4th Grader

Wow! Julia is in 4th grade and as her teacher put it, "she is one of the big kids now." That made me teary.

First Day of School

I can't believe this day has come. I have a 4th grader now and Olivia started kindergarten. Yes, Big Mama (A name my girls gave me when I was pregnant with Liam) shed a few tears on the playground. Someone offered me a tissue. Cousin Nadia is in Olivia's class and you can see from the pictures they never let go holding hands. I hope they hold hands for support forever!

Our across the street neighbor, Preslee, is in our class too.

Looking a little unsure.

On their way!

Outside the school doors and still holding hands...
